Library Policies

FOR THE FACULTY:

  1. Remind the students to sign up in Log-in computer upon entering the Library.
  2. Please remind the students to please tone down their voices when inside the library so that they will be acquainted to the fact that the library should be a noise-free zone.
  3. Kindly advise the students to return the books to their proper shelves. If they are not sure where to return the books, kindly tell them to leave the books on the book cart. But asking them to return the books to their proper shelves is one way of enhancing their discipline and their sense of organization/orderliness.
  4. Please identify the books that you want your students to use and the ones that you think are for faculty use only. By doing so, the librarian can segregate the books for students and the books for the faculty. These selected faculty materials will be placed in shelves where students cannot access.
  5. Kindly remind the students to arrange the tables and chairs before leaving the library (during class research).

FOR THE STUDENT:

  1. Sign up in Log in Computer upon entering the Learning Resource Center.
  2. Handle the books with care. Do not throw or step-on the books.
  3. Damaging the book, tearing pages of books, vandalism and other forms of mutilation of library materials are strictly prohibited.
  4. Silence inside the library should be observed at all times.
  5. Return the books properly in the shelves. If you do not know the exact location of the book used, return it to the librarian and/or leave it on the book cart.
  6. Playing of gadgets are strictly prohibited. Students who are caught using these gadget will be confiscated.
  7. Students should not stay inside the library during class hours unless classes are cancelled and have vacant periods.
  8. Students are allowed to use the library during recess time, lunch breaks, and during class library visit/research (faculty/teacher is present).
  9. Student should take care of the library’s facilities and equipment. It is the responsibility of each student to take care of the school’s property.
  10. Approach the librarian for assistance on the use of books and other library materials.
  11. Use of internet/pc will only be allowed during student’s free time or research. Viewing pornographic sites or other sites not related to school / academic research is strictly prohibited.
  12. Students should not litter. Throw the trashes in the trash bin.
  13. Students are encouraged to work as volunteers for the library.

USE OF PC:

  1. Use existing username and password.
  2. Students are allowed to use the computers for research purposes only. Viewing pornographic sites is forbidden. Students who are caught viewing such sites will be punished.
  3. Properly shut down computer/s after use.
  4. Students are not allowed to charge their cellphones or laptops inside the library. It is expected that they bring full-charged batteries.

BORROWING / RETURNING BOOKS:

  1. Select the book you want to borrow from the shelf.
  2. Approach the librarian so that proper charging of book is done and recorded.
  3. Return the book on the specified due date.
  4. Books returned beyond the due date have existing penalties/fines per day. Each book is charged P5.00 per day in order to make the students realize the value of returning books on time.
  5. Reference books such as encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, guidebooks and almanacs are for room use only.
  6. Lost books should be reported by the student. Books lost should be replaced with the exact copy of the book or its higher edition. If book is already out-of-print, the student needs to pay according to the policies on lost books by the Libraries.
